An Upcoming Upgrade Of The Ethereum Network
Metropolis is an upcoming upgrade of the Ethereum network. According to Ethereum Wiki, as early as today, Ethereum could roll out the first iteration of the Metropolis hard-fork called the Byzantine hard-fork.

(Spoiler alert - these "upgrades" usually make the price of something go up.)
Bitcoin In The Browser
According to CoinDesk, developers at some of the top tech companies (Apple, Google, etc..) have created a browser API that could soon make it easier to buy goods and services online with cryptocurrency.
Technical issues aside, I like this.

Japan Becomes Largest Bitcoin Market As Traders Leave China
Now, the biggest gains in the market were made by Japan. According to CoinTelegraph, Japan has once again become the largest Bitcoin exchange market with 50.75% market share of the global Bitcoin exchange market.
Major bad move for China. In any case, Japan has a much friendlier environment towards cryptocurrency, so good.

Bitcoin News writes that the Japanese exchange Coincheck announced they have become a fully licensed exchange in Japan after being approved by the country’s Finance Bureau Director.

Telegram Exchange
According to Bitcoin News, as Chinese-based bitcoin exchanges plan to shut down, bitcoin investors are taking their trading elsewhere. They will now focus on broker-facilitated, over-the-counter exchanges.
Looks like traders and investors will conduct trades silently, under the cover of Telegram’s encrypted darkness.
Congrats China, you just made a bunch of people criminals.

The Pirate Bay Is Pirating Your Processor For Bitcoin Mining
As reported by CoinTelegraph and exposed by Torrentfreak, it seems that the illegal torrent site has been secretly testing a Javascript Cryptocurrency miner on their page that allocates a large chunk of the visitor’s processing power to their mining operation.
